The
GFS is showing a big snowstorm around the middle of January for the Deep South. The above image can be found at the
GrADS Snow Accumulation Page.
It may well go away, come back, and go away again. It may happen sooner or later, it may just be flurries, rain, or nothing at all. If we snow fans are lucky, the models will be consistent. It will be fun to keep an eye on it and see what happens. How many times have the models projected this over a week in advance and nothing happened?
My prediction: This will be the talk of the town if this is still showing up on the models come this time next week.
The real fun will be getting out in it and playing if it actually happens!

Oh no!!! Not s**w!!!
We can only hope.......
So the MLK holiday could be a five day weekend? If I hoard milk and bread, I could make a mint.
Oh, wouldn't that be perfect timing for snow?
The lastest model run has backed off, placing the low on a track from the NW Gulf of Mexico to Knoxville. If this solution pans out, we will get a few residual snow flurries or light snow showers just before the precip ends. Don't completely give up hope yet. Things could change back....
