Preliminary storm reports from NWS Birmingham
On 4/19/09 a tornado-warned thunderstorm moved across Morgan County, Alabama. I was located at Lacey's Spring at the intersection of highways 231 and 36. This storm produced hail and damage all the way across northern Mississippi, northern Alabama, and into Georgia. There were reports of hail as large as baseballs in downtown Red Bay in Franklin County and tree and structural damage south of Moulton in Lawrence County. There were two fatalities: One was just to my west in Priceville in Morgan County and one was just to my east in Asbury in Marshall County.
