It is time to give some very important "thank you's" to friends, blog readers and those of you who take the time to comment and provide feedback. I appreciate you!
I began this blog as a "labor of love" on April 7, 2006, just a little over two years ago. This was what I was thinking at the time about weather blogging:
"Due to the active weather, my personal blog, http://mikewx.blogspot.com/, has become a little too dominated with weather posts. I decided that I should begin a new blog, completely dedicated to weather, especially Alabama weather. I hope that you find it as interesting to read as I find it to put together. I am open to any comments or suggestions that you may have. Thanks for reading!"
I didn't realize where this blog would go. I thought that I would be happy enough to do it for my own benefit, but I have come to learn that you readers have been more inspirational than I ever imagined in the beginning.
I like to look at numbers, but I realize relationships are more important than numbers. The numbers have been encouraging, though. This blog received 5000 page views in the first one and one half years. In the last five months, that number has expanded to 19,283. As encouraging as that is, the real reward has been the numerous friendships I have made, the enjoyment of sharing weather with others who are interested (some fascinated, like me), and the positive feedback from readers.
I do not want to leave anyone out, but I know that I will do that if I start thanking people by name. You are all very special to me and I mean that sincerely. I do want to give a special thank you to Dewdrop in South Georgia. I was honored that she mentioned this little blog as one of her top five. She has been an inspiration to me when it comes to weather and blogging, has probably commented more than anyone, has assisted me via telephone on my chasing expeditions, and (last but not least) has been a great friend.
