"She gave the commencement address at Enterprise High School.
The ceremony was held at Bates Memorial Stadium. It was a reminder of the deadly tornado that hit last spring.
The First Lady advised the students to, "use these memories as inspiration to move forward with the same great dignity you have used and shown since last year's storm. America will be made a better place because of the lessons you have learned as Enterprise Wildcats."
Bush Lauds Students' Strength - AL.com
"First lady Laura Bush told students at Enterprise High School Thursday night that they have taught the rest of America a lesson about strength in the face of tragedy.
The first lady credited the school's Class of 2008 with rebuilding a high school community after a tornado demolished their school 14 months ago and killed eight students, including four who would have been members of their class.
"The class we now honor responded to these tragedies with strength and dignity that far outshone your years," Bush said, speaking during commencement ceremonies at Bates Memorial Stadium, next to the empty lot where the high school used to stand."
