Hampton Cove Walking Trail at Eastern Shore
Thanks to my friend Terri Featherston for sharing these pictures of flooding in the Hampton Cove area of Madison County. With all of the talk of tornado damage and snow potential, flooding has been an issue in some areas. As noted yesterday, many areas of Northwest Alabama and the Tennessee Valley region received in excess of four inches of rain yesterday. Rain has continued today with and additional inch or more already reported in many areas.
Heavy rainfall across Alabama has prompted the NWS to issue flood watches for North Central, Northwest and East Alabama. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
