Pastor Buddy Gray of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama had two children who lost practically everything in the tornado at Union College in Tennessee. They were in a safe place and survived.
When asked about the situation he pointed to Job 1:21 which says, "the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."
He said that is not being fatalistic it is based on trust and assurance of knowing that God is in control. That really is so true and it really carried a lot of meaning for me personally.

Tornado update from HSBC website:
"Union Update - Union University in Jackson, Tennessee was struck by a tornado Tuesday evening, February 5. By God's grace no lives were lost on campus. The campus, however, was devastated by the tornado. Hunter Street has strong ties with Union. Pastor Buddy Gray has two children who attend Union as do several other Hunter Street families. Dr. David Dockery, president of Union, is a former Hunter Street member and has family ties here. Union also offers classes toward a Master of Christian Studies on the Hunter Street campus. Union University exists to for the glory of God and to train young men and women to develop a Christian worldview. There may never be a better time to apply what they have been taught than right now, after their world has been turned upside down."

Interesting how we both felt compelled to share the Word today.
God is definitely in control.
That is cool that we both happened to do that.
