A VERY MOIST UNSTABLE AIRMASS ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL-LIKE
DISTURBANCE PRODUCED ONE DEFINITE AND ANOTHER POSSIBLE TORNADO ON
SATURDAY MAY 23.

COUNTY JUST EAST OF THE TOWN OF MARBURY. HERE ARE THE FINDINGS:

DAMAGE PATH LENGTH (IN MILES): 1/3 MILE
DAMAGE WIDTH (IN YARDS): 50 YARDS

START TIME: 155 PM CDT
END TIME: 155 PM CDT
WARNINGS: TORNADO WARNING 159 PM UNTIL 230 PM
WATCHES: NONE

THE WEAK TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN BRIEFLY JUST SOUTH OF COUNTY ROAD 20
AND TRAVELED TO THE NORTHWEST FOR ABOUT A THIRD OF A MILE BEFORE IT
LIFTED. DAMAGE ALONG THE PATH INCLUDED 4 HARDWOOD TREES UPROOTED AND

1 SOFTWOOD TREE SNAPPED AND MINOR ROOF DAMAGE TO AN OUTBUILDING.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS HAVE BEEN DISPATCHED TODAY TO
EXAMINE DAMAGE FROM ANOTHER POSSIBLE TORNADO IN NORTHERN LEE COUNTY
NEAR THE TOWN OF MECHANICSVILLE. INFORMATION REGARDING THIS
POSSIBLE TORNADO WILL BE RELEASED AS SOON AS ITS AVAILABLE.
