Thanks to an upper level low and a trough, North and Central Alabama are experiencing fog and cool temperatures this morning following three days of much needed rainfall. Rainfall totals over the past three days have been in the 1-3 inch range in portions of the state.
I saw two rainbows yesterday (one just after 7 a.m. and one just after 6 p.m.) but wasn't really in a good position for a photo. My rainbow photos never seem to do justice to what I am actually seeing.
A sampling of temperatures this morning includes:
MUSCLE SHOALS CLEAR 51
HUNTSVILLE FOG 52
DECATUR CLEAR 50
HALEYVILLE FAIR 46
GADSDEN CLOUDY 48
From this morning's NWS Huntsville Forecast Discussion:
MONDAY/S "DAYTIME" HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 65F DEGREES AT HUNTSVILLE
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WAS THE FIRST TIME THE HIGH TEMP WAS BELOW 70F
SINCE APRIL 27...EXACTLY 5 MONTHS.
